We ran our performance tests on basically the same platform on which we overclocked the Phenom 9600, except with the CPU running at spec. We first ran the tests at the graphics card’s specified clock frequencies. Next, we used the built-in ATI Overdrive to perform its own tests and recommend an overclocked configuration. You can do this by clicking the Auto-Tune button.
During this process, it hard-locked the PC several times. We rebooted and started the Overdrive utility, which picked up where it left off, and finally gave us a recommended memory and core clock frequency. We then ran our suite of performance tests at those frequencies.
